Pure Ice 2012 Holiday Collection: Red Hot Mama and Playtime

It's Friday!!!!! I don't know about you but I'm about Christmas partied out but hey, tis the season right? This year I was blessed enough to adopt 2 families for the holiday's so I won't complain too much. On to the nails, if you haven't found the perfect red or gold for the upcoming holidays you've come to the right place. Pure Ice Red Hot Mama and Playtime are holiday perfection all bottled up. Review, LOTS of pictures, glitter gradient, and water marble after the jump.

For those who know me, you know I'm not a red polish kinda gal but I got soooooooo many compliments when I wore Red Hot Mama. It's not your typical bright, as my 6th grade chorus teacher would say, "hooker red." It's a medium red. Pure Ice describes it as a "maroon." The formula on this one was nice. Despite being so vibrant in color, this is 3 coats and I still have a little visible nail line in the sun. Oh yeah, this is NO top coat!!!! Yep it's that glossy alllllllll by it's little lonesome. Winning!

Playtime is a densely packed glitter polish. It's really a stunning polish that I think really can't be captured on camera. I saw flashes of gold, copper, red, and at times it almost gave off a holo vibe. I was able to reach full opaqueness with 3 coats alone. This glitter is a little thirsty so I ended up using 2 coats of Seche Vite, which is no problem.

Playtime may be a dupe for Butter London's West End Wonderland. I will try to get a comparison up soon for all my ladies who want this look for less.

I decided to do two looks with these polishes. First up, a classic glitter gradient! I wore this to a Christmas party and all the older "conservative" ladies were jocking my fresh! lol These pictures are pretty color accurate as well

Second up: my beloved water marble. I'm a little rusty with my water marbling but these came out pretty good. Woot Woot

I think I've finally got a red I will actually wear. (It's actually on my toes as I type this) Both these colors are perfect for the holiday season.

Pure Ice polishes are free of the big 3 and the 2012 holiday collection is currently in store at Walmarts nationwide. Pure Ice retails for $1.97. You can also find Pure Ice online at www.pureicecosmetics.com
