Smothered and Covered with Butter Londons Artful Dodger

It's MANICure Monday and please tell me you got my Waffle House reference in the title! lol I have truly been enjoying life with travel and birthday celebrations, but I've also missed my little piece of my corner on these internets. Today I want to share with you one of my birthday gifts given to me by my sister/line sister/Soror/friend, Angela, over at Karma La Vie. She sent me 3 amazingly beautiful polishes and today I present to you Butter London's Artful Dodger. More pics and my neon splatter design after the break.

Butter London describes Artful Dodger as a "true teal" but I'd say it leans more toward a blue/dusty blue shade. It does however photograph more teal than blue. The way it photographed under the splatter mani (scroll down) is a more accurate depiction of its true color. Beautiful nevertheless!

Application wise, Artful Dodger was true to Butter London's smooth creamy finish. This is 2 coats with one coat of Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri fast drying top coat.

But in true Jen fashion, on day 3 I broke out the straw and neon polishes and created some splatter. Sometimes a girl just isn't ready to to take her polish off!

Polishes used for the splatter:

China Glaze Sunshine Pop (yellow)
China Glaze Blue Sparrow (blue)
Sinful Colors Dream On (purple)
Sinful Colors Pink (well, pink...duh)

I know summer is over but I'm not one to follow seasonal polish "trends"/colors. Do you still wear your bright shades during fall/winter?

I'm also linking up at Nail Files this week, as well as Glitter and Gloss so check them out as well! Happy Monday!

  1. I still can't get the straw splatter thing down! My paint flies everywhere but on the darn nail lol. This looks fantastic

    1. Lol you may have too much polish on your straw. I also angle my nail downwards so I don't have globs on top.

  2. Yessssssss. I love the splatter! And I agree with you that the base is far more blue than teal but it's still really pretty! I wear neons all year long because I love them, but I mix it up more with darker polishes in the fall/winter. There a few that I can't wait to try out! :)

    1. I really can't give up my bright colors neither. Thanks for stopping by!!

  3. I just bought my first Butter polish today. Checked in with foursquare at Ulta and had a $3.50 coupon. #winning
